Bio

A design expert with 27 years of experience, Jim joined Gow Hastings Architects in 2007. Over the course of his career, he has developed a depth of experience designing for education, workplace, and public spaces. He is known for uniting creative vision with a superior grasp of lighting, materiality and technical innovation. His work embodies an abiding commitment to close collaboration with clients, user groups and consultants to create inspiring places that touch all scales and that build community.

As Design Director, Jim is responsible for the artistic oversight of project design and management from conception through construction. Taking pride in forging lasting relationships with everyone involved, he maintains direct communication with clients, consultants and team members throughout the entire process.

Jim has overseen several award-winning projects including the Durham College Centre for Food, Niagara College Student Commons, Humber College Centre for Justice Leadership, Toronto Metropolitan University Student ServiceHub, and the Seneca Odeyto Indigenous Student Centre.
