Description

The one-of-a-kind Professional Music Program at Toronto Metropolitan University offers a unique learning experience tailored to the rapidly evolving music sector. The program’s creative ecosystem—an open lounge and workspace connected to nearby recording studios—was thoughtfully designed to resonate with musicians.

By altering an existing meeting room and surrounding corridor spaces, the renovation establishes a relaxing and collaborative hub on the third floor of the Rogers Communications Centre with fixtures and finishes that hit all the right notes with students. Felt pendant lights provide both acoustic absorbance and diffusion, height adjustable tables are wired with power and USB, and moveable soft seating can easily switch from study sessions to jam sessions. From the corridor, a wide-spanning ombre wall graphic announces the entrance to the ecosystem with a bold pink branding palette evocative of the Professional Music Program.
